Prejudice = to judge beforehand, pre-judge

Judging is a process of asking questions. Judges deliberate on the facts before they pass judgment. Deliberating means to think carefully. A resulting judgment is an answer.

Pre-judging, prejudice, is arriving at an erroneous and baseless opinion without thorough pre-questioning. Prejudice comes from the lack of questioning – a lack of judgment.

Prejudice is not a product of reasoning (questioning) but of ignorance (lack of knowledge). The only way to acquire appropriate knowledge is to question.

Prejudice is unreasonable – not rational.

Bigots will not question.

Fools can not question.

Slaves dare not question.

We can be unknowing slaves to unquestioning baseless ideology.

Bigot – an intolerant person who has a belief based on a generalization and not on adequate information

Decisions are only as good as the information on which they are based. Information comes from the process of questioning.

As strong a force as negative emotion (prejudice) is, it can only be countered

by our rational capability. We must enhance our rational capability by enhancing our abability to question.. This is the only way to counteract prejudice.
