MY BACKGROUND
“The most important thing
we learn at school
is the fact that
the most important things
can't be learned at school."
Haruki Murakami
-
"All knowledge comes from experience." - Albert Einstein
“The next best thing
to being wise oneself
is to live in a circle
of those who are.”
C.S. Lewis
Our credentials
are the lives we have lived.
I could only have written the human key by gaining insight from a broad spectrum of experiences, observations and perspectives. They unexpectedly put me in a position where I became aware of the basic connections and a universal human pattern found in the book.
.
As you will read, these include immersion in different industries, countries, cultures, languages and advanced technologies including building this website. These experiences encompassed producing a documentary on robotic technology, teaching, business ownership, international development and humanitarian relief.
.
Most importantly, these experiences allowed me to know people wiser than myself. Many have introduced me to new opportunities. We learn from nature; particularly human nature.
Below are a few of these engagements that provided perspectives. They are not listed in chronological order. It has been a life unplanned. How could anybody have planned this? Life is plan B through Z and beyond . . . . .
.
We should not be afraid of dying
but be afraid of not fully living.

"Killing Fields" - Cambodia
-
One of the first few international foreign relief personnel to fly relief supplies into Cambodia from Singapore. This was just after the “killing fields” era where up to 2,000,000 men, women and children were systematically killed under the orders of the leader Pol Pot. Yale University estimates that this was 21% of the country's population. This would be equivalent percentage in the US population of the states of California and Texas combined. Mistakes
-
You ask, who would list their mistakes? My mistakes are too many to list. We all have them.
-
-
Perfection is boring. It is the imperfections that make life interesting.
-
.
-
With this being so, the imperfect life is perfect. All we can do is our imperfect best.
-
-
"The person who makes no mistakes does not usually make anything."
-
-
Mistakes are tuition we invest in learning.
